No public services are planned. Carole will be laid to rest next to James at Maple Grove Cemetery, Antwerp Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to SPCA of Southwest Michigan or Kalamazoo Animal Rescue, in c/o the funeral home.
Age 85, passed away Sunday evening, July 14, 2024. Carole was born in Kalamazoo, on November 2, 1938, the daughter of Russell and Bonnie (Smith) Daniels. She was married to James Benjamin Willis who preceded her in death in 1988. Carole loved animals of all kinds, especially her own dogs and cats. They were like additional children to her. She liked doing her cross stitch while watching true crime stories on TV. She and Jim enjoyed going camping at Schnabel Lake. Carole is survived by her daughters, Lisa Anne Kequom of Mattawan, Lori Anne Kequom of Kalamazoo; step-children, Karen Kequom, Karla (Jim) Steffler, Anthony "Sonny" Kequom; grandchildren, Brittany (Jake) Pena, Thomas Bean, Erica (Nick) Walker-Deathe, Michael (Jessica) Walker, Brandon Davis, Gabrielle Ramsey; several great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Stettenbenz; brother, Richard Daniels; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Besides her husband, Carole was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Anthony Kequom; brother-in-law, Jerry Stettenbenz; sister-in-law, Jan Daniels.
