He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Jacob and Katherine Velte Sr. (Gygax); his wife Alice Velte; his daughter Christina Lovisa; his grandson Adam Velte; and his sisters, Kay Karopzyk and Lena Uzarski (Jerry).
He is survived by: his sons, Michael Velte (Barbara), Robert Velte (Candy), James Velte (Kelley) and David Velte; his grandchildren, Sarah Ripley (Paul), Chrystal Hoag (Francis), Robert Velte Jr. (Rachel), Jonas, River, Elijah, Boaz and Adeliade Palmer (Nate); and his brother-in-law Bert Dempsey. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
