He is survived by: his parents, Patrick Ellis and Francesca Ellis (Renda); his siblings, Susan Kemp (Matthew), Kristen Kaylor-Knopf (Caleb) and Kevin Ellis; his grandmother Maxine Ellis; his niece Abigail Kemp; his nephew Peter Kaylor-Knopf; and his uncles, Gary Ellis, Thomas "Terry" Ellis, Vincenzo Renda (Tara) and Leonardo Renda (Teela).

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
