She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Simmonds and Hildred Simmonds (Mathias); her husband Richard VandeVorde; her children, Curt VandeVorde and Lynne Kealy; and her siblings, Lowell Turner and Katherine Rypkema.
She is survived by: her children, Lori Rivard (Chris), Scott VandeVorde (Lisa) and Julie Prentice (Neil Biek); her daughter-in-law Pam VandeVorde; and her sister Diane Sharp. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
