It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bette Chavoya of Kalamazoo, Michigan, born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, who passed away on February 28, 2021, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard G. Heeringa and Irene L. Larsen (Warner). She is survived by: her children, Dr. Gary Michael Chavoya of Hawaii, Cynthia Gettel (Mark) of Kalamazoo, Police Officer Laurie Michelson (Franklin) of Colorado and Susan Nisker (Lawrence) of Kalamazoo; her grandchildren, Gary Lee Chavoya, Laura Chavoya, Kristin Chavoya, Marshall Gettel, Kelson Gettel (Brooke), Jason Chavoya (Christine Pasun) and Ashley Glenn (Garrett); and her great grandchildren, Samantha Chavoya, Greyson Chavoya, Weston Gettel, Kira Chavoya and Tiberius Chavoya. She is also survived by four children.
