She was predeceased by: her parents, Merlyn Shattuck and Barbara Shattuck (Bradley); and her son Nicholas Overholts. She is survived by: her husband Gilbert Newton; her children, Rosemary Kindig (Martina Glidden) of Kalamazoo, Jesse Kindig (Amanda Suttle) of Three Rivers and Michael Overholts of Kalamazoo; her brothers, William Shattuck (Rosemary), Clifford Shattuck and Randy Shattuck (Janice); and her pets, Boots and Goliath. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; many adopted children.
