He is survived by : his wife Theresa Szakas of Attorney's Office; his son Nicholas; and his sister Clementina of Nevada. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 19th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Betzler Life Story Funeral Homes (6080 Stadium Dr, Kalamazoo, MI 49009). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 20th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

He regularly donated his surplus crops to non-profit organizations and provided pumpkins and gourds to area teachers for student projects.
