He was predeceased by: his parents, John Preston Harris and Mary Irwin Harris; his former wife Martha Ann Gates Harris; his wife Pauline Bufford Harris; his children, Estes Harris, Dexter Durant, Joellina Harris, Justin Harris and Alphonzo Harris Jr.; and his grandson Isaac Harris.
He is survived by: his children, Kermit Harris (Alma) of Kalamazoo, Alanna Harris Griffin (Benjamin) of Florida, Donna Faye Mayo of Texas, Thynosha Harris (Brandon) of Kalamazoo, Jon Erik Harris of Kalamazoo, Marvin Harris of Kalamazoo, Diadra Harris of Kalamazoo and Alphonella Durant of Wisconsin. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Harper Funeral Home - Chapel (521 Douglas Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49006).
