He was predeceased by: his parents, Loren Champion and Marjorie Champion (Hammill); his daughter Lori Sweet (Jim); his great grandchild Hayden Golden; and his sister-in-law Deb Champion.
He is survived by: his daughter Jodie Golden (Barron Staten) of Fremont, Indiana; his grandchildren, Kale Golden (Caitlin), Keely Golden (Josh Cline), Scottie Steele (Megan) and Corey Hamilton; his great grandchildren, Grayson Golden, Emmett, Theo, Isabel Boulis, River, Monroe Cline, Marlow and Briggs Steele; his brother Gerald Champion of Myrtle Beach; and his niece Sherry Buckner.
