He was predeceased by: his parents, Bethel Shiltz and Mildred Shiltz (McClanahan); his daughter Tammy Lynn Shiltz; and his siblings, Linda, Anne and Frank.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Hendrix; his children, Laura Shiltz (Jamie Jean) of Ann Arbor and Jeff Thomas (Kitty) of Liberty; his granddaughter Courtney Thomas; and his siblings, Annette Secoy of Athens and Bethel Shiltz of Osseo.
