He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Cabanaw and Genevieve Cabanaw (Dhuivetter); his sons, Shane and Shannon Cabanaw; and his siblings, Georgianna Henson and Larry Cabanaw.

He is survived by: his daughter Keyna Cabanaw; and his sister Audrey Bognar. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
