He is survived by: his significant other Tami Owen of Jones; his children, Josh Best of Michigan, Jeremy Best of Vandalia, Troy Best of Monroe and Sandra Jo Merckley of Dowagiac; his father Dave Best (Bobbie) of Cassopolis; his grandchildren, Dylan, Darrin, Rylie, Ashley and Haley; his siblings, Cindy Best of Virginia, Julie Hall (Ricky) of Wyoming, Penny Patterson of Niles, Joni Black (Dave) of South Bend, Indiana, Dave Best, Jr. of Vandalia and Adam Best of Bridgman; his siblings-in-law, Cheri Martine of Cassopolis, Candy Mack of Cassopolis and Bill Owen of Dowagiac; his niece Kelli Binns; and his nephew Jeff Owen. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
