He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Rodgers and Mary Rodgers (Hanser); and his brothers, Gerard and William Rodgers. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen; his children, Meredith Rodgers of Johannesburg and Michael Rodgers of Lansing; his grandchildren, Jillian, Evan, Gracin and Meagan; and his siblings, Shirley Michelin, Elizabeth Gohrmann and Robert Rodgers.
