He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey McKay and Dorothy Kinney McKay. He is survived by: his wife Alice; his children, Patricia Goethals (Robert), Ann Marie Zeitner (Jerry) and Michael (Kathryn); his grandchildren, Ryan, Alex Goethals, Andrew, Matthew Zeitner, Colleen, Daniel and Kristina; and his brother Douglas McKay (Nancy).
