Sheryle Matteson Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sheryle Matteson of Jenison, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 2, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her former husband Joe Benson; her parents, Egbert Baumann and Gertrude Baumann; and her parents-in-law, Robert and Norma Matteson.
She is survived by: her husband Garry Matteson; her sons, Joseph Michael Benston (Gwen Tyler) and Daniel Lee Matteson; her granddaughter Whitney Jo Oliver (Daniel Perez); her great grandchildren, Alayna Nichole Oliver, Sierra Alyse Oliver and Isaiah Anthony Oliver; her siblings, Arvella, Rev. Warren Bovenkerk, John, Rosemary Baumann, Ted and Barbara Baumann; and her siblings-in-law, Lynda Schank, Greg, Sue Matteson and David Matteson. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and several dear friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Open Barn (6421 56th Ave, Hudsonville, MI 49426).
