He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Helmer and Dora Helmer; and his parents-in-law, Bob and Arlene Doxtater. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Helmer (Doxtater-Rillema); his sons, Jamie Helmer (Teresa), Jason Helmer (Angela) and Joel Helmer (Andrea); his stepsons, Christopher Rillema (Sarah), Jason Rillema (Courtney), Russell Rillema (AnneMarie) and Scott Rillema (Becky); his siblings, Leona Konkle and Gary Helmer (Laura Toth); and his brother-in-law Robert Doxtater (Lori). He is also survived by 26 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Tall Oaks Camp.
