He is survived by: his former wife Laurie Takens; his children, Josh Takens (Alicia), Alison Westhuis (Austin) and Whitney Ritsema (Joe); his grandchildren, Ayla Braun, Kolsyn Stacy, Porter, Malia Westhuis, Brynley and Grady Ritsema; his sister Joy McSorley (Randy); and his niece Christina McSorley.
