He was predeceased by: his parents, Stewart DeWindt and Jeanette DeWindt; and his siblings, Shirley DeWindt, Donna and Jim McDowell.
He is survived by: his children, Scott DeWindt and Bev DeWindt-Potts; his grandchildren, Kacie and Jacob Elzinga; his great grandchild Kennedy Elzinga; and his siblings, Steve (Ann DeWindt), Dale (Sally DeWindt), Ken (Katie DeWindt), Rose (Tim Crowley) and Pam (Don DeVlieger). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
