He was predeceased by: his daughters, Kimberly Sasso Dykema and Michelle Sasso; his parents, Anthony Sasso and Evelyn Sasso; his parents-in-law, William and Cecilia Van Belkum; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Van Belkum and Jerry Kreger.

He is survived by: his daughter Kathryn Thompson (Art); his grandchildren, Brian Dykema, Heather Dykema and Christopher Thompson; his siblings, Tony Sasso and Augustina Kreger; and his siblings-in-law, John Van Belkum (Connie), Joe Van Belkum and Barb Van Belkum. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
