He was predeceased by: his daughter Susan Meekhof; his grandson Austin Emmert; his son-in-law John Bartholomew; and his brother-in-law Jack Alles. He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Kim Bartholomew, Sherry, Kurt Elders and Cindy Emmert; his grandchildren, Jeff, Kaylie Dean and Cassey Elders; his grandson-in-law Ed Kollar; his granddaughters, Rachel Elders, Elizabeth Elders and Brittney Emmert; his grandson-in-law Jacob Richert; his grandchild Spc; his great grandchildren, Kaliah and Tozer Dean; his siblings, Janet, Chuck VanderMolen and Arlene Alles; and his siblings-in-law, Henry "Butch", Lois Potter, Howard and Peggy Potter.
