We bid farewell to Rita Jean Woodhurst (Jackson, Michigan), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 30, 2024 at the age of 77. Rita Jean touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her mother Margaret Yates. She is survived by: her father John Yates; her daughter Teresea Marie Ratliff; her grandson Marty "Buddy" Ratliff; her son Donald Ray Hamilton; her sister Joyce Aldridge; her children, James Hamilton, Pamela Shepherd (Shannon) and Sheryl Deason; her grandchildren, Megan, Adam, Amanda, Kellie, Kyle, Cody, Ashley, Kevin, James, Sonny and Tyler; her stepgrandchildren, Kilee, Nicholai, Cylus, Titus and Elias; and her siblings, Janet "Kay" Swann-Peterson, Michael Yates, Evelyn Sue Collett, Sheila Porter and Sherry Mufford. She is also survived by 27 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Harmony Baptist Church (6475 Ann Arbor Rd, Jackson, MI 49201).
In lieu of flowers, donations to the family for final expenses would be greatly appreciated.
