In loving memory of Phyllis (Schweda) M. Niekowal of Jackson, Michigan, who departed this world on January 22, 2025 at the age of 100. Phyllis leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leon Schweda and Blanche Schweda; her husband John Niekowal; her sister Regina "Gin" Ciesluk; her brother-in-law Edward "Duke" Ciesluk; her nephew Mike Ciesluk; and her close friends, Betty Sullivan and Pat McCollum.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Wilson (Rob), David Niekowal, Mark Niekowal, Mary Beth West and Teri Johnston (Don); her grandchildren, Kyle, Jamie, Chad, Casey, Trevor Niekowal, Jessica Leffew and Cortney Johnston; and her great grandchildren, Nathan, Mason, Ethan, Lily, Ruby, Juniper, Oliver and Lucia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church (120 E Wesley St, Jackson, MI 49201). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of sending flowers, contributions to St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church would be appreciated.
