He was predeceased by: his parents, Duane Bliss and Gwendolyn Bliss; and his nephew Lucas Bliss. He is survived by: his wife Julie; his brothers, Greg Bliss (Dawn) of Jackson and Jeffrey Bliss (Susan) of Jackson; his stepsons, Joshua McClanahan (Erin) of Parkersburg, WV and Ryan Howard (Alexandria) of Napoleon, OH; and also, Hannah, Haylee and Harley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Donations can be made to Kibby Park Animal Hospital, or Great Lakes Caring in his memory.
