Leonard A. Chomic Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leonard A. Chomic of Jackson, Michigan, who passed away on February 8, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Chomic and Verna Chomic (Stachurski); his significant other Virgilene Chomic (Hagen); his son Gary Chomic; his daughter-in-law Francyn Chomic; and his brothers-in-law, Eugene Tyslenko and Karl Wood.
He is survived by: his children, William Chomic (Karen), Robert Chomic, Donald Chomic (Gail Eischeid), Cynthia Bonnen (John), Diane Hinckley (Eric) and Brian Chomic (Libby); his grandchildren, Christopher Chomic (Megan), Jason Chomic (Sarah), Theresa Patton (Kyle), Sam Chomic (Jes), Kyle Chomic, Lily Bonnen, Denise Hinckley, Michelle Hinckley, Paul Bonnen, Thomas Bonnen, Gabriel Chomic and Charlotte Chomic; and his siblings, Betty Tyslenko, Mary Ann Wood, Marge Idziak (Stan) and Jim Chomic (Jane). He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Desnoyer Funeral Home (204 N Blackstone St, Jackson, MI 49201). A prayer was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (707 N Waterloo Ave, Jackson, MI 49202).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Polish Legion of American Veterans or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
