He was predeceased by: his daughter Jane Marie; his brother Stanislaw; his in-laws, Chester and Jane Urbanski (Gryszkiewcz); and his close friends, Alfred Lynch, Misztura, Bronek Maslach, Eddie Suchowolec, Tony Kulfan and Ziggy Niedziolek.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Anne of Jackson and Mark Damian of Sherman Oaks, CA; his wife Susan; his granddaughters, Gracyn Freund of Cedar Rapids, IA and Carys Freund of East Lansing; his sister-in-law Czeslawa Pelic of Dearborn; and his siblings, Eugene Pelic (Wieslawa) of Dearborn Heights, Zofia Maslach (Jozef) of Pysznica, Mieczyslaw Pelic of Pysznica and Aleksander Pelic (Mary) of Dearborn Heights. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Michigan Memorial Funeral Home (30895 W Huron River Dr, Flat Rock, MI 48134). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Steohen Catholic Church (19109 Craig St, New Boston, MI 48164). A Mass was held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Stephen Catholic Church (18858 Huron River Dr, New Boston, MI 48164).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made and noted "In memory of John Pelic, proud Grandfather of Gracyn and Carys Freund" and mailed to Lumen Christi Catholic School, 3483 Spring Arbor Rd, Jackson, MI 49203.
