He was predeceased by: his mother Ida Smith (Barrett); his wife Alice Coy Holdridge; and his siblings, David, Charles Smith and Grace Boley.
He is survived by: his father David Smith; his children, Earl Smith II (Heather), Illa Smith and Amy Smith; his sibling Thomas Smith; his grandchildren, Earl Smith III, Eileen Smith (Stephen Hamilton) and Colleen Childrey (Jon); his great grandchildren, Jack Lee Childrey and Joan Kay Childrey; and also Janet Smith. He is also survived by his family, especially the grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Lansing Avenue Baptist Church (4000 Lansing Ave, Jackson, MI 49202).
