He was predeceased by: his parents, Clement Cassell and Marjorie Cassell. He is survived by: his sons, Dean R. Jr. (Christine) of Melbourne Beach, FL, Robert (Mary Ann) of Horton, MI, David (Elizabeth) of Fallston, MD, Timothy (Judy) of Leominster, MA and Douglas (Jennifer) of Newaygo, MI.; his grandchildren, Jennifer Mason (Joshua), Laura Sturgill (Cody), John David (Caitlyn), Patrick (Molly), Michael (Brooke), Hannah and Matthew Rainey; his great grandchildren, Magnolia, Clementine Mason, Everly, Eliza Sturgill, Parker, Gleeson, Leona, Frances, Oliver, Liam Rainey and Amira King; and his goddaughter Sharon Miles. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Watson Funeral Chapel - Jackson (2590 Spring Arbor Rd, Jackson, MI 49203). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dean's honor can be made to the American Cancer Society or an organization of your choice.
