He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Beard and Gertrude Beard (Harris); his stepson Bobby Stone; his grandson David Lee Johnson; and his nieces, Shirley, Gertrude and Mabel.
He is survived by: his daughter Patricia Ashburne of Yonkers, NY; his stepchildren, Frank Stone, Gwen Wesley (Pastor Philip) and Lisa Stone; his grandchildren, Christopher Williams-Brown, Carrie Williams-Brown and Michael Austin Beard (Ashley); and his great grandchild Madeleine Williams-Brown.
