He was predeceased by: his parents, Beatrice B. Merchant (Terry) and Jay Merchant; his sister Lenna Grandy (R. L.); his daughter Bonnie Jean; and his great-grandparents, Thomas and Christina Merchant (Lett).
He is survived by: his stepmother Elsie Merchant (Butzin); his wife Carol Yvonne Glazier; his children, Rodney Lee (Brenda Lindquist), Scott Terry of Ithaca, Kay Althea Speranza (Paul) of Hendersonville, N. C. and Sandra Louise Merchant of Alma; his grandchildren, Eric Merchant, Keli Speranza, Rocco Speranza, Thomas Gesler and Matthew Gesler; and his great grandchildren, Madysen Merchant and Masen Merchant. He is also survived by friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Mapleview Retirement Community for their Park Project.
