He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel W. Bender and Arie B. Bender (Peachey); and his wife Pauline Buerge. He is survived by: his daughters, Nancy (Phillip Koehn), Jana (Brian Toews) and Sherry (Kevin Benesh); his foster daughters, Tammy Vaughn, Crystal McCormick, Annette Fargo and Barbra Jason; his sisters, Katie Yoder and Emma (Daniel Peight); and his sister-in-law Lizzie Bender.
