It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Pontius of Ithaca, Michigan, born in Lansing, Michigan, who passed away on June 1, 2021, at the age of 50, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his parents, Gerald "Bud" John and Diane Kay Pontius (Reeves); his wife Dianne Marie Lavia; his sons, Johnathan Pontius (Sabrina) of Wheeler, Bryant Pontius (Leah) of Grand Rapids and Brandon Nevills (Krista) of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Devonny, Julian and Jacus; and his siblings, Sharon Schneider (Tom), Lynnette Pontius, Gary Pontius (Cheryl), Gerald Pontius (Sally), Steven Pontius (Heather), Billy Pontius (Donnalee), Mark Pontius and Jason Pontius. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
