It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sheila Sihtala of Ishpeming, Michigan, born in Cherry Point, North Carolina, who passed away on December 19, 2020, at the age of 55, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Verna Lehtola (Moilanen) and Gordon Lehtola; her siblings, Carol Brangar, Sandy Koski and Rick Pietila; and her mother-in-law Margaret Sihtala.
She is survived by: her husband Michael P. Sihtala of Ishpeming; her sons, Jesse M. Sihtala of Ishpeming and Kyle R. Sihtala of Ishpeming; her brother Gordon Lehtola (Karen) of Moscow Mills, MO; her niece Bridget Seelen; her nephews, Kevin Brangar (Tricia) and Bradley Koski; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Kaitlyn Seelen, Alexa Davis and Wil Brangar; her father-in-law Robert Sihtala; her sister-in-law Lynn Sihtala; and her aunt Judy Schuster.
Due to the current COVID19 restrictions, a private memorial service will be held, with a public celebration of her life to be held at a later date.
The family requests memorial donations be directed to the Aspen Ridge School, Fourth Grade Class, 350 Aspen Ridge School Rd., Ishpeming, MI 49849 in memory of Sheila.
