She was predeceased by: her parents, Werner Wirtala and Elizabeth Wirtala (Mayry); her husband Duane Doney; and her siblings, Betty Ann Wirtala, Lorraine Adams, William and John Wirtala.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Doney (Kathy Jo), Judy Saari (Fred), Elizabeth Powelson (Robbie) and Eric Doney (Tamara); her brother Peter Wirtala; her grandchildren, Jason Doney (Jaime), Danielle Anderson (Brian), Rebecca Clisch (Matt), Victoria Dishaw (Tony), Brittany Lyman (Mike) and Libbie Jo Doney (Bobby Zhulkie); and her great grandchildren, Kaylin, Eliisa Doney, Nora Jo, Barrett Anderson, Maija, Josie Clisch, Henry Dishaw, Maverick and Banner Lyman. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bethel Lutheran Church in memory of Ruth.
