He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Holmes (Vanhalla) and Arne H. Holmes; and his siblings, Jack, Dale Holmes and Arlove Holmes.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Jean Holmes (Marietti); his children, Norman A Holmes of Ishpeming, Michael Holmes (Paulette) of Iron Mountain, Rita Miller (Robert) of Ishpeming, Charles Holmes (Sylvia) of Roland, OK and Greg Holmes of Hartford, WI; his grandchildren, Nathan Holmes (Polly), Allen Holmes (Amanda), Pauline Holmes, Jennifer Skridulis (Christopher), Shannon Miller (Matthew Barbercheck) and Jeff Holmes (Jac); his great grandchildren, Madeline, Brandon, Alice, Steven, Mary Grace and Savannah; and his sister Janet Nordling of Hurley, WI. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
