Louis J. Willey Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Louis J. Willey of Ishpeming, Michigan, who passed away on May 24, 2024 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence "Tab" Willey and Thomasine "Tommy" Willey; his son Joshua John Willey; his brother John Patrick Willey; his father-in-law Clyde Bengston; his brother-in-law Steven Bengston; and his nieces, Kimberlie Newton and Sandra Starner.

He is survived by: his wife Debbie Bengston; his children, Kerri Waun (Tony), Heather Codding (Eric), Christina Smart (Nick), Craig Willey (Kristin) and Linda Manninen (D. J.); his grandchildren, Caleb, Caitlyn, Joseph, Matthew Codding, Jaidyn, Arabella Smart, Noah Groulx, Chase, Carter Willey, Blake Willey, Skylar Guizzetti, Gavin (Angelina) and Payton Manninen; his pet Lucky Lou; his brothers, Clarence Jr., James (Lynn), Steven and Daniel (Stacey); his mother-in-law Kathleen Fitzpatrick; his siblings-in-law, Susan Bastidas and Scott Bengston; and his caregiver Marquette. He is also survived by uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Jerry McBride wrote a sympathy message

“To Debby and the family; we are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend. He has helped us in so many ways during our time at the campground. We will miss his laugh and the joy he brought to us any time he was around. He was a great friend. I (Jerry) will so miss the bike rides, fishing and comradery during his visits.”
