It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Maki of Ishpeming, Michigan, born in Mohawk, Michigan, who passed away on August 12, 2020, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arne Maki and Jennie Maki (Linna); and his wife Dorene Gay Maki (Hodge). He is survived by: his children, Brian Maki (Julie) of Ishpeming, Sandy Dowrick (Todd) of East Lansing and Cheri Sundling (Joseph) of Manistique; his grandchildren, Sheri Hewitt (Chad), Traci Michaud (Adam), Ryan Lofaro, Jordan Lofaro, Amy Olivarez (Marcelo) and Brad Dowrick (Melissa); his great grandchildren, Caitlin Hewitt, Blake Hewitt, Nolan Michaud, McKenzie Michaud, Brody Lofaro, Norah Olivarez, Benjamin Olivarez, Mason Dowrick and Beau Dowrick; and his siblings, Ken Maki and Barbara McGowan. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
