He was predeceased by: his parents, Rose Marie (Trudell) and Ernest LaFond; his daughter Connie Mattson; his brother Leo LaFond; and his great grandchild William Helppi.
He is survived by: his wife Valerie Carlson (Niemi); his children, Cindy Helppi (James) of Calumet, Carole Koski of Kewaunee, WI, Brian Carlson (Julie) of Mohawk and Bruce Carlson (Kyla) of Billings, MT; his son-in-law John Mattson (Pamela) of Anoka, MN; his brother Bernard (Emlee Young); his sister-in-law Linda LaFond of Negaunee; and his nephew Jason LaFond. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren, and several cousins.
