He was predeceased by: his parents, Martha Potila (Hintsala) and Albert Potila; his brothers, Dale and Dennis Potila; his stepsiblings, Mark LeClair, Greg, Gary LeClair and Carol; his sister Dawne Potila; and his grandchildren, Taylor and Jeffrey Potila.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Potila of Ishpeming; his sons, Travis Potila of Gwinn and Jason Potila (Laura) of Ishpeming; his grandchildren, Jacob Potila, Alaina Stenfors, Rebecca Potila and Cara Potila; his brother Duane Potila of Ishpeming; his stepsiblings, Steve LeClair (Joan), Tom Laitanen and Mary Ellen Smith (Casey); and his siblings-in-law, Bryan, Kris Niemi, Lynn and Brad Potila. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and numerous close friends.
