He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Darknell and Julia Darknell; his brothers, George Darknell of Baldwin and William Darknell of Rexton; his niece Teresa Maquire; and his nephew Timothy Darknell.

He is survived by: his siblings, Steven Darknell of Ludington, Marlene Houseworth of Lansing and Darlene Fuller (Duwayne) of Manistee.
