He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Raymond Burchell and Katherine Burchell (Robinson); his wife Virginia M. Velin; and his aunt Arline Robinson. He is survived by: his children, Robert Burchell (Annette) of Ironwood, Patrick Burchell (Karen) of Evanston, IL and Virginia Tyler (Pat) of Springfield, VA; his grandchildren, Emily Fitting (Eric), Robert Burchell, Lily Burchell, Elizabeth and Katie Tyler; his great grandchildren, Bodhi and Wynne Fitting; his brother-in-law Paul Velin (Connie) of Ann Arbor, MI; and his son Raymond Verner Burchell. He is also survived by children and grandchildren, and many cherished friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established with donations going to the Downtown Art Place, 111 E. Aurora St., Ironwood MI 49938.
