He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul William and Agnes Gertrude Cyr (Granger); and his sister Peggy Schmitt. He is survived by: his wife Joan Carroll Cyr (LaClair); his sister LaDonna Kleven (Cyr); his children, John, Gary, Brian Cyr (Ann) and Paula Kevin Schluck (Cyr); his grandchildren, Marie, Tracy (David), Jenifer, Kristen, Rebecca, Jody (Brad), Megan (Jay), Jeremy, Derrick (Laura) and Shane (Lynn); his great grandchildren, Jesse, Jack, Elizabeth, Joshua, Benjamin, Ruth, Susannah, Verity, Kindred, Caleb, Ava, Camden, Beauden, Watson, Soren, Calder, Dakota and Tate; and his great great grandchildren, Bria, Ben, Lemmy, Petra and Kyle. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
