It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Eero Johannes Haukkala of Ironwood, Michigan, born in Wakefield, Michigan, who passed away on February 16, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles J. Haukkala and Senja S. Haukkala (Ekola); his parents-in-law, Leo and Helen Gayan; his brother Eino; his sister-in-law June; his siblings, Elmer and Eila; his brother-in-law Benjamin Pusakulich; his sister Berta; his nephews, Ben Pusakulich Sr., Richard Pusakulich and Walter Gayan Jr.; his niece JoAnn Lane; and his siblings-in-law, Leo Jr., Lois Gayan, George, Dora Gayan and Walter Gayan Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Rose Marie Gayan; his children, Jeffrey, Lori Boes (Richard) and Eric (Melissa); his grandchildren, Rachel Haukkala, Nicholas Wallace, Aaron Haukkala and Alexander Boes; and his sisters-in-law, Helen Kangas and Carol Haukkala. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
