He was predeceased by: his parents, John W Best and Grace Finerty Best; his wife Mildred Pierce; his stepson James Allan Best; and his brothers, John and Donald.
He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Carolyn Best; his granddaughters, Laura and Jessica Best; his sister-in-law Betty Best of Hiawassee, Georgia; and his nieces and nephews, Jackie Best Lamberty (Robert) of Mercer, WI, Dorothy Best (Dave Smitley) of Lansing, Lucy Best of Brasstown, Jon Best (Jeanette) of Grand Blanc and Robert Best of Marble Hill, Georgia.. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Due to COVID restrictions, a memorial service with Military and Masonic Rites will be held at a later date.
