He was predeceased by: his parent Fred Hooper; his children, Paul, Stan and Sue; and his brother Jerry.
He is survived by: his parent Valera Hooper (Nelson); his spouse Verna Tervo; his children, Linda McTaggart (Dave) of Mead, WA, David M. Hooper of Green Bay, WI and Jerry Hooper of Savage, MN; his grandchildren, Michael Rankinen, Phillip Hooper, Lisa, Jeffrey Hooper (Kayla), James McTaggart, Ashlyn and Rhiannon Hooper; his great grandchildren, Jordan and Dominick; and his sister-in-law Bertha Pangrazzi (Jerry).
