It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jack E. Kangas of Iron River, Michigan, who passed away on October 19, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Kangas and Rachel Kangas (Auvinen); and his son Jeffrey. He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his children, Joseph Kangas (Holly) of Caspian, MI, Russell Kangas (Tanya) of Eau Claire, WI, Richard Kangas (Jenn Kovacocich) of Wauwatosa, WI and Janet Hunt (Barry) of Talmo, GA; his sisters, Betty Petroski of Iron River, MI, Joyce Kirkpatrick of Iron River, MI and Faye Ballinger (Larry) of Iron River, MI; his grandchildren, Jessica, Matthew Hunt, Talon, Teona Kangas, Carter, Paityn, Brooklyn Kangas, Kaitlyn Bain and Ben Davis; and his great grandchildren, Jace, Skylar, JD Baine, Adeline, Esme Davis and Kiera Kangas. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jack's name to the Iron County Historical Museum.
