He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman "Jim" Johnson and Florence Johnson (Shovald); and his son Jeremy Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Kelly Condon; his daughters, Kaycee Zimmerman (Ryan) of Iron River, MI and Kayla Johnson (Shane Keigher) of Fort Collins, CO; his brother Robert Johnson (Bonnie) of West Bend, WI; his brother-in-law James Condon of Caspian, MI; his sister Cindy Lippman (Ron) of Brighton, CO; his sister-in-law Michelle Piper of Traverse City, MI; his grandchildren, Aidyn and Addisyn Zimmerman; his parents-in-law, Diane McGinnis of Kingsford, MI and James Franklin Condon of Crystal Falls, MI; and his pet JJ. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Iron Amateur Hockey Association.
