We are sad to announce that on February 1, 2025, at the age of 108, Dorothy M. Mellstrom of Iron River, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John, Sr. Scott and Elizabeth Scott (Walsh); her husband William L. Mellstrom; her son Lawrence Mellstrom; her son-in-law Robert Shovald; her siblings, John, William, Earl Scott, Marion Scott and Grace Anderson; her granddaughters, Anne Shovald and Sherry Mellstrom; and her granddaughter-in-law Terri Anne Shovald.
She is survived by: her daughters, Arlene Shovald of Salida, CO and Lois Brozak (Mike) of Iron River; her grandchildren, Robert Shovald (Nancy), Terri Shovald (Scott Brooks), Richard Shovald (Debbie), William Mellstrom (Eliza), Nicole Purkey (Luke) and Joseph Brozak; her daughter-in-law Jean Mellstrom; her niece Emily Fredrickson; and her close friend Bonnie Bobnock. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River (405 W Cayuga St, Iron River, MI 49935). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
