He was predeceased by: his father John Carlson; his siblings, John "Leonard" Carlson, June Carlson (Burton), Helen Osterberg (Bruce) and Larry Carlson; and his brother-in-law Frank Rhodes.
He is survived by: his children, David Carlson (Mary), Daniel Carlson (Sally) and Dayna Carlson; his grandchildren, Joshua, Camie and Evan Carlson; his sisters, Rosa Rhodes and Barbara Parker (Kevin); and his close friend Virginia "Ginny" Oman. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
