He is survived by: his wife Madaline Flatka; his children, Susan Nelson (Ken Angle) and David Johnson (Christie); his grandchildren, Matthew Nelson (Ann), Erik Nelson (Kristin), Lindsey Otradovec (Andy), Rebecca Skalsky (Nathan) and Katherine Johnson (Pat Rafail); his great grandchildren, Olivia, Samuel Oscar, Gabriel Nelson, Connor, Alaina, Alex Nelson, Brody, Hudson, Knox Otradovec, Emma, Sofia, Amelia Skalsky, Una and Miriam Johnson-Rafail; his siblings-in-law, Bill, Doug Flatka, Nancy Lindberg, Violet Flatka and Pat Flatka; and his family, Dr. Beth Schroeder and Dr. Matthias Fuchs. He is also survived by nephews and cousins.
