Mel Haga Obituary
We are sad to announce that on December 4, 2023, at the age of 88, Mel Haga of Ionia, Michigan, born in Oak Harbor, Washington passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert Haga and Fredericka Haga (Brown); his children, Scott and Lila Hughes; and his sister Ann Nienhouse (Don).
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Schaar; his brother Henry Haga (Lyla) of California; and his daughter LeeAnn Paul of California. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, many other extended family members and countless friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Le Valley United Methodist Church (4018 Kelsey Highway, Ionia, MI 48846) or the Ionia County Commission on Aging (115 Hudson St., Ionia, MI 48846).
